7 Incredibly Strange Movies that will Melt Your Brains

If you are at home craving for some good content that Fucks your Mind harder than time, but don't have the patience to sit (or lie) for days long shared cinematic universes or TV shows with long ass seasons.

We have just the list to put that craving out.
Take your pick from the following gems and Oh yeah! May the 4th be with you!

7. The Platform (2020)

Every once in a while movies make us feel that humans are a pathetic race. This latest addition on Netflix is no different. Several of The Sins are shown to us to prove that. The justified (or not), selfish and gluttonous characters could be us in different circumstances.
With us isolated to our homes, this prison drama will give you the perfect chills on your couch.

6. Being John Malkovich (1999)

As the title suggests the movie explores a portal into John Malkovich's head or at least John Cusack does. Quirky as it may sound, among the themes explored are identity, souls, sexuality various moods and the uniqueness of mind.

Bonus: Oh! And Cusack's character is a puppeteer, so the exploration is pretty wild and clever to say the least.

5. Following (1998)

Christopher Nolan's first project Following, is an edgy neo-noir in late 90's. Nolan is deep as a well with his dialogues and remember this is way before 'Interstellar', 'Inception' or even 'Memento'. It's always fun to see one of those low budget indie movies about an unemployed young writer that become cult classics decades later.
Bonus: Almost forgot! It is in Black & White.

4. Vivarium (2019)

Another movie that will smother you with the fact that it could be way worse than Quarantine. Jesse Eisenberg & Imogen Poots star as a young couple looking for a house who found themselves in the middle of an inescapable and endless maze of identical green suburban homes. Get this, they have to raise an alien 👽/ AI 🤖child. Can't recommend this mind bender enough.

3. Waking Life (2001)

Rotoscoped movies are rare and it is a sign of mindfuck itself. This animated art-house dreams-cape by Richard Linklater is no different. You will have a lot of philosophical questions about realism, materialism and existentialism during and after playing it.

Bonus: Watch after "Before Sunset" if you can and thank us later.

2. Black Swan (2010)

Courtesy of Fox Searchlight Pictures

An Academy award winning performance by Natalie Portman with a touch of Darren Aronofsky's twists, is a gripping and tragic tale of a ballet dancer. The allegory of this character, superb cinematography is full of metaphors in life. The stuff speaks for itself.

Bonus: Some weak-hearted like us, might even be crying in the finale.

1. Coherence (2013)

Want to get your mind fucked in multiple dimensions? Look no more.
Being the most thought provoking and underrated movie on this list, it reminds you of the eeriness of 'Twilight Zone' and complexity of a Roman Polanski movie. It will grab your attention at the beginning and will keep you at the edge of your seat till the very end.

Bonus: Time-bending concepts with solid performances will provide the sci-fi experience that even big-budget movies fail to provide. The movie came a few years ahead of it's time and is a hidden gem.
