Spider-Man is coming to Marvel's Avengers Game

Spider-Man is coming to Marvel's Avengers, BUT! with a twist. That's right, the web-head in your friendly neighborhood, the wall crawler will be coming as a post-launch DLC character to Marvel's Avengers.

However, there is a catch to it. The superhero is a Sony exclusive. This meaning that, you'll only be able to play as Spider-Man on PlayStation. The news came from a PlayStation blog post and was confirmed that Spidey will be added to a playable roster in Feb 2021, at no additional cost.

Not many details were given, but it did say that, "They went back to the beginning for the look and embraced the iconic elements of artist Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr."

To us that means one thing he will have web-gliders. We take this to mean that they're giving us a brand-new version of Spider-Man rather than incorporating the Spidey with a white spider symbol from 2018's PS4 exclusive Spider-man game.

It's still cool to get the advanced suit and other skins fron the previous fan-favorite incarnations. 

Speaking of cool stuff you'll get for Spidey, the game will be embracing the idea of Spider-Man teaming up with Earth's Mightiest Avengers.

And we'll see that play out in the form of special gear such as custom web shooter based technology from Hank Pym, S.H.I.E.L.D., Stark Industries and more. 

The first thing that comes to mind is Tony Stark's Iron Spider costume. But with all of these other heroes in a mix, who knows what other gear will get to try out. 

The blog post said that we can expect for him to play in an authentic Spider-Man fashion. So, he'll be able to 

1. gracefully swing around buildings
2. Utilize a variety of web configurations
3. Advanced combinations of gadgets to his traversal
4. Not to mention spidey's acrobatic abilities with skills.

Swing Mechanics

These together will complement the experience allowing you to seamlessly transition from navigation to combat. We've seen that Miss Marvel and Black Widow traversed by swinging through the game world. So we imagine spidey's webs will also anchor onto in-game structures in a similar fashion. 

Now while some of expressed excitement at the news not everyone is so happy.  The exclusive nature of the DLC has left some Gamers feeling down because they feel it's unfair for a popular fan favorite hero like Spider-Man to be off-limits to some people simply because other platform of choice. 

This was not an easy digest for a huge fraction of fans.
